Agriculture & Environment
The Agricultural and Environmental Services department is comprised of the Environmental Fieldman and Assistant Environmental Fieldman. Their role is to provide relevant information to residents and they are responsible for overseeing and administering the municipal agriculture and environment related programs. The Environmental Fieldman and Assistant Environmental Fieldman are members of the Association of Alberta Agricultural Fieldmen (AAAF).
The Environmental Fieldman is appointed as the municipality's Agricultural Fieldman and, with support from the Assistant Environmental Fieldman, is responsible for implementing the agricultural policies, programs and to manage the agricultural resources of the municipality. Staff are also appointed as inspectors and responsible for duties assigned under the Weed Control Act, Agricultural Pests Act, Agricultural Service Board Act and Soil Conservation Act.
