Fire Safety Services

Like many Emergency Services providers in Canada, the MD of Bighorn Emergency Services relies on its paid on-call fire fighters to complete the response teams required to provide community level services and emergency response capabilities throughout the municipality. We are committed to protecting the people and properties within our municipality. Our department members are dedicated and trained professionals who place a high value on the services provided to our residents, friends and neighbors. Bighorn Emergency Services maintains 3 on-call fire stations in Exshaw, Ghost River and Jamieson Road areas. We also work with Mutual Aid partners within the Bow Corridor.

There are three fire districts in the Municipal District of Bighorn each with its own fire hall and manned completely by volunteers.

The three districts are:
  • Benchlands (also referred to as the "Ghost" fire district)
