  2. LAST Community Gym Night - until November

    March 26, 2019, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Exshaw School

    All area residents are welcome to participate! Unstructured community ‘play in the gym’ time. Everyone is welcome to join & play together (not a drop-off program). Come, hang out & play whatever you decide. Bring clean, non-marking runners, leave your boots and outdoor shoes at the north doors just above the gym. Complete waiver the 1st time you attend & sign in each week. All participants are responsible for good sportsmanship, supervising their own children, for care of the school and equipment and for putting everything away neatly at the end. Check for notice on facebook.com/mdbighorn around 4:00pm Tuesdays - in case we must cancel a Gym Night.

  3. Taekwondo Inspired Kids Fitness

    March 27, 2019, 5:30 PM - 6:15 PM @ Exshaw Community Centre

    Taekwondo practice of forms and exercises lead by local enthusiast and community volunteer Quintin. Focus on self-control, self-defense, kicking and punching, this is not a structured program to earn belts and certification, it is a recreation time to practice together and improve your current skills. Ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an assisting adult.

  4. TENTATIVE Mindfulness Yoga & Meditation

    March 27, 2019, 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM @ Exshaw Community Centre

    Register by March 25, Apply your $11 class credit (last session participants) for class cancelled on Feb 20. This is a slower paced, gentle and mindful vinyasa flow style practice, combined with longer holds in certain postures, and a focus on safe alignment. Variations are offered for different levels of ability, strength and flexibility, and can be adjusted to accommodate minor injuries. This practice will cultivate calmness and concentration while getting deeper into your tissues, allowing deep release of tension and stress. Restorative (prop based) and yin (longer held) postures are integrated into this class along with mindfulness and meditation. Suitable for anyone looking to relax, de-stress and release while focusing on strength and flexibility. All levels are welcome from beginner to more experienced practitioners. Please arrive a few minutes early, we will begin on time. Bring a blanket, yoga mat, strap & blocks. If you don't have these, we have extras!!

    The Finance & Economic Development Committee (F&EDC), is made up of members of Council, focuses on financial management, community promotion and investment in the MD. The committee meets monthly, to review the financial statements and auditors reports, and to form recommendations on financial / fiscal policies for Council.
