Historical Information

Harvie Heights was originally developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a seasonal cottages community with a highway commercial component. The hamlet has shifted over time towards a community of more permanent full-time residents. Both full and part-time residents are active members of the community.

Community Resources

Community Hall

Owned and operated by the Harvie Heights Community Association on municipal reserve land, the hall is a one level cabin moved to the community from Banff in the late 1950s. The hall is used for social activities and rented for private functions. Contact the Harvie Heights Community Association Rentals Coordinator via email.

Recreation Area

On the south side of the hall is an outdoor skating rink and a tennis court.

Playground

On the north side of the community hall is a playground which was replaced and expanded through a community build process in 2018 utilizing a provincial grant.


Trail

This is a hard-surface (asphalt) double width trail which connects to the east with the Town of Canmore where it connects to the Legacy Trail west through Banff National Park to the Town of Banff and beyond.
