Recipients

The MD of Bighorn is pleased to announce that the following organisations have received Community Grants or Council Discretionary Grant Funding in 2019 for operations or maintenance projects:

  • Cochrane and Area Rural Crime Watch 
  • Dead Man’s Flats Community Association
  • Exshaw Community Association
  • Ghost Watershed Alliance
  • Guy Gibson (Benchlands) Community Association
  • Ghost Waiparous Trails Association
  • Harvie Heights Community Association
  • KidSport Bow Valley
  • McDougall Stoney Mission Society
  • Palliative Care Society of the Bow Valley
  • Water Valley Library Society

These 2019 capital projects received Community Enhancement Fund grants in Wards 1, 3 and 4. Ward Community Enhancement funds are collected from the hosting fees paid by the Bow Valley Waste Management Commission on Francis Cooke Landfill operations.

The MD of Bighorn also supports other organisations on an annual basis through its regular budget process, including:

  • Cochrane and Area Victim Services
  • Marigold Library
  • STARS Air Ambulance

The MD believes it is important to support the community organisations and the volunteers who provide so much to all of us. Do you belong to a local community organisation in the MD of Bighorn that could benefit from some funding to help with a project or to recognise your volunteers? If so, the MD has small grant programs to assist.
