Locally Delivered Presentations & Programs

The MD of Bighorn Community Services provides a variety of presentations and programs that can be delivered at your community's closest convenient community hall or closest suitable venue depending on the requirements of the presentation/program.

Presentations and programs are single events that provide hands-on information and instruction, empowering participants to continue being active in their interest with the resources and supports provided at each session.

  • Sessions are between 45 minutes and 2 hours in duration, depending on the topic/activity, the participants and the venue
  • Some presentations/programs may have a minimal registration fee
  • For activities requiring specialized equipment, there may be a minimal equipment fee
  • Presentations require a negotiable minimum number of participants
  • Some programs will have maximum numbers, in which case a second program may be booked to accommodate participants
  • Allow at least one month to establish the best available date/time, venue, participants and program/presentation

Please contact the MD of Bighorn Community Services for more information or to begin arranging for a presentation/program booking. When sending an inquiry, please include the following information:

  • The name of the program(s) that interest you
  • Number of participants anticipated
  • Your community in the MD of Bighorn
  • Preferred dates/times 30 days from your inquiry
  • Phone number if possible

Presentations & Programs

  • Child and youth Leadership(may be adapted to ages between 13Y and 23Y)
    • Outdoor recreation oriented leadership instruction, based on seasonal/regional opportunities: hiking and mountain travel, forest play and traditional skills, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing
    • Resume-building & amazing opportunities for thriving: Learn to create a resume that highlights your skills and that attracts the interest of the organizations of your choice. Learn about the great opportunities to learn, grow and thrive in your region and beyond
  • Seniors Resources and Supports: Learn in-person about the resources and supports available for seniors in your region, including the choices faced by challenges with mobility and accessibility
  • Family Resources and Supports: Learn in-person about regional resources and supports for families, children & youth, adults and more
  • Academic support and resources: Learn about evidence-based and not-for-profit resources, strategies and support of literacy and numeracy
  • Children & Youth 2024 Summer Plans: Be ready for 2024’s exciting leadership and growth options for children and youth 7Y – 18Y. Be informed of the opportunities. Know the application/bursary due dates.
  • The Night Sky: Learn in-person about stars, planets and other cosmic wonders in the rural night sky
  • Creating a Simple and Safe Community-Delivered Program: Learn how to develop, deliver and sustain a simple and safe community-delivered program
