Forestry crews are concentrating efforts along the Eastern edge of the Devil’s Head fire. Working together with the bucket helicopters, crews made good progress and have been able to get personnel on the ground to all active edges of the fire, with the help from newly cut helipads.
Weather and burning conditions were not favorable for burn out operations but they will be closely monitored to determine when the next window of opportunity presents itself for a successful areal ignition operation. This afternoon crews are establishing a long term retardant loading area down the Trans Alta road.
Given the current weather conditions and resource, this wildfire is not anticipated to grow past expected boundaries.
