How do I know if I have a regulated weed or pest?

The Alberta Weed Control Act & Regulation lists regulated weed species while the Agricultural Pests Act & Regulation lists other animal, bird, insect, plant or disease as pests or nuisances.  Property owners are responsible for managing the regulated weed and pest species on their property.  This legislation enables inspectors and local authorities to deal with native and introduced weeds and pests.
